Everyone at Lost World Adventures is thrilled to be a member of ATCF – the Adventure Travel Conservation Fund – and excited about the future of adventure travel around the world.
Our joint mission is to directly fund local projects engaged in the conservation of unique natural and cultural resources of adventure travel destinations. We are firmly commited to connecting with local communities we serve.
Here are some of our plans and goals:
1. Build Teamwork: Each year our staff members will nominate two projects and together will have one vote to rank the projects that they would like to receive funding. Together, we will cast our single vote.
2. Encourage Consumer Participation: More than ever consumers consider a company’s humanitarian or philanthropic efforts when making a purchasing decision. We will use our membership of the ATCF to showcase our organization’s passion for the conservation of unique natural and cultural resources of adventure travel destinations. We will share our stories on our website, our regular press releases and social media accounts, such as Facebook and Twitter.
3. Storytelling: There is a lot more to the travel industry than just selling trips. Being a member of the ATCF allows us to engage with our audience with relevant and compelling content.
a. We will share with our audience the projects that we are nominating for funding
b. We will share how our company voted on the projects.
c. We will showcase the projects that were awarded grant money. We will also showcase specific projects we chose to adopt.
4. Through regular Media Releases, we will create and share new stories to share.
ABOUT THE ADVENTURE TRAVEL CONSERVATION FUND (ATCF)
The Adventure Travel Conservation Fund (ATCF) is an international nonprofit focused on funding on-the-ground conservation projects around the world. The ATCF provides members in the travel and outdoor industry an avenue to directly support projects that are critical to protecting the future of adventure travel.
The mission of the Adventure Travel Conservation Fund (ATCF) is to directly fund local projects engaged in the conservation of unique natural and cultural resources of adventure travel destinations. The ATCF members are a diverse group of leading adventure travel and outdoor recreation businesses who share a common ethos and commitment to protecting the resources from which the adventure tourism industry depends on.
As of January 1, 2018, the ATCF consists of over 70 international organizations.
In 2017 the ATCF funded 3 conservation projects (http://adventuretravelconservationfund.org/grant-winners/) and provided over US$75,000 in grants.
100% of membership dues goes directly to funding on-the-ground projects.
