The Pristine Nature of Patagonia

"One of the most ... spectacular sights that human imagination can conceive." - National Geographic

Marble caves

Located in the Aysen region of Patagonia, these marble caves are difficult to get to, but well worth the long journey.
Patagonia is a bucket-list destination for anyone craving adventure. The stretch of land shared by Chile and Argentina is windswept, sparsely populated, and one of the most beautiful places on earth. The pristine views of lakes surrounded by towering mountains practically defy description, and are best experienced in person.
Of course, there's much more to Patagonia than the Torres del Paine National Park. Hike in more remote areas and surround yourself with beautiful untouched land, such as Aysen's marble caves, shown in the video above. Trek across an ever-changing glacier that seems to glow with its own blue light. If you wish to explore on the water, head to Chile's Lakes District to take in the sights on a sea kayak. Throughout Patagonia, you can stay in comfortable lodging, camp under the stars, explore the vast openness on horseback, fish and raft in the crystalline lakes, and witness unique wildlife.

Five of the best places to visit in Patagonia

Patagonia is a vast region making up roughly the bottom third of Chile and Argentina. At over 400,000 square miles, it's more than twice the size of California. There are many regions in both countries that make up Patagonia, with diverse landscapes and attractions. But which areas should you visit, and why?

This blog post covers the regions of El Chalten, Torres del Paine, the Chubut Province, the Aysen Region, and El Calafate.
